Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 May 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Ignite Learning Studio (“Ignite”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
1. Who can use Ignite
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
- You must be the parent or legal guardian of any child whose learning is tracked through the account
- You agree to keep your account credentials secure and not share them
- You're responsible for activity on your account and for any learners you add
2. The service
Ignite is a learning platform offering interactive practice across one or more curriculum packs. Each pack provides adaptive spaced repetition, a parent dashboard, and progress reporting. The first pack available is UK 11+ Maths; additional packs covering further key stages and subjects may be added over time. Specific features, content, and available packs may evolve as the product develops.
Ignite is a learning aid. We don’t guarantee any particular educational outcome (such as passing an exam, achieving a grade, or securing a school placement). We work hard to make the content accurate and pedagogically sound, but we are not responsible for academic results, school placements, or other outcomes.
3. Free trial
- New accounts get a 7-day free trial of the full Service
- We do not require payment details to start the trial
- At the end of the trial, the Service requires an active subscription to continue
4. Subscriptions and billing
When you subscribe, you choose between two plans:
- Monthly: £19.99 per month, charged each month until cancelled
- Annual: £119.99 per year, charged each year until cancelled (a roughly 50% saving compared to paying monthly)
Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you authorise us (via Stripe) to charge your payment method on the recurring schedule for your chosen plan. Prices include VAT where applicable.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. We’ll send a reminder email before each annual renewal.
5. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep full access until then.
We don’t generally offer refunds for unused time. If you believe you’re entitled to a refund (e.g. a billing error, or rights you have under UK consumer law), contact us at hello@ignitelearning.ai and we’ll handle it fairly. See our Refund Policy for the full picture.
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel a digital service contract within 14 days of purchase. By starting to use the paid Service immediately, you agree that the right to withdraw ends as soon as you start using it.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Share your account credentials with anyone outside your household
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to access any other user's account or data
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to circumvent technical protections
- Resell or redistribute the Service or its content
- Use automated systems (bots) to interact with the Service in ways not intended for normal use
We may suspend or close accounts that breach these rules.
7. Content and intellectual property
All content in the Service — questions, lessons, presenter visuals, copy, logos, and design — is owned by Ignite or licensed to us. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the Service and its content for your household’s learning, for the duration of your subscription.
You don’t acquire any ownership of the content, and you can’t copy, modify, distribute, sell, or commercially exploit any part of it.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how we handle it, including extra protections for children’s data. By using the Service you agree to our Privacy Policy.
9. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting your account from the dashboard.
We may terminate or suspend your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Where we terminate without cause, we’ll refund any prepaid unused subscription period.
10. Disclaimers
We do everything we reasonably can to keep the Service available, secure, and accurate. But the Service is provided “as is” — we don’t guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that the content is complete or fit for any particular purpose.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law. Nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- Indirect or consequential losses
- Loss of profits, business, opportunity, or goodwill
- Loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service
- Educational outcomes, exam results, or school placements
Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is capped at the amount you paid us for the Service in that period.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after a change counts as acceptance.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that consumers may bring proceedings in their country of residence where required by local law.
15. Tutor Programme
Some users participate in the Ignite Tutor Programme as a tutor (“Tutor”). The terms in this section apply in addition tothe rest of these Terms — being a Tutor doesn’t replace your existing account agreement; it adds a referral relationship on top of it.
Eligibility. You can become a Tutor either by direct invite from us (“admin invite”) or by accepting a parent’s share link from inside the Service (“parent share”). Tutor accounts must be used by the individual tutor named on the account; you can’t transfer or share Tutor access. We may decline or revoke Tutor status at any time.
Commission
- Tutors earn commission on the SUBSCRIBER'S PAYMENTS — a percentage of every billed amount, recurring for as long as the subscription stays active.
- Admin-invited Tutors earn 50% on subscriptions starting between 1 May 2026 and 30 September 2026 inclusive (the launch period). Subscriptions starting after 30 September 2026 lock in at 25%.
- Parent-share Tutors earn 25% on every subscription they bring in, regardless of date. Parent-share Tutors are not part of the launch programme and don't qualify for the 50% rate.
- The applicable rate is set when each subscription starts and stays at that rate for the lifetime of that subscription. Cancelling and resubscribing creates a new subscription with a freshly-evaluated rate.
- Attribution is first-touch and locked at the time of subscription. Only one Tutor earns commission per subscriber, even when multiple Tutors share access to the same learner.
- Annual subscriptions are split into 12 monthly accrual chunks. Each chunk matures on its own 30-day schedule rather than being credited up-front.
Payouts
- Payouts are made by bank transfer to the account on file in your dashboard. It's your responsibility to keep those details current.
- We pay out once your eligible balance reaches the minimum threshold shown on your referrals page, by the end of the following month.
- Pending commission becomes eligible after a 30-day clearance window per accrual chunk; this allows refunds and chargebacks to net out before payout.
- Commission amounts shown are gross. You're responsible for declaring and paying any tax (income tax, VAT, etc.) due on referral commissions in your jurisdiction. We'll provide a payout summary you can use for your records.
Refunds and reversals
If a subscriber receives a refund, we reverse your commission in proportion. A full refund flips the matching commission events to reversed(excluded from any payout); a partial refund scales the commission down by the same percentage. If a refund hits commission that’s already been paid out, we’ll deduct the reversed amount from your next payout.
Data access & sharing
When a parent shares a learner with you (or you add a learner directly through the Tutor flow), you gain view-access to that learner’s progress data — session history, mastery scores, homework results, and related dashboards. You do notsee the parent’s billing details, payment methods, or any data unrelated to the learner’s practice.
You agree to use that information solely to support the learner’s tuition. You must not share, export, or otherwise disclose a learner’s data to anyone outside your direct tuition relationship with that family. Parents can revoke your access at any time from their account, after which you lose visibility of that learner.
Use of your referral link
- You may share your referral link in personal communications with families you tutor or who you reasonably believe would benefit from Ignite.
- You must not spam your link, post it in unrelated public forums, run paid ads against Ignite-branded keywords, or impersonate Ignite when promoting it.
- You must accurately represent the Service, its pricing, and the trial. Don't make claims about exam results, school placements, or guarantees we don't make ourselves.
- We may revoke commission and Tutor access for breaches of these rules, including reversing already-paid commission found to be the result of policy breach.
Termination of Tutor status
You can stop being a Tutor at any time by contacting us. Doing so closes the referral relationship — existing referred subscriptions stop accruing commission to you from the next billing period onward. Already-eligible commission still pays out on the normal schedule.
We may suspend or terminate your Tutor status if you breach these Terms (including this Tutor Programme section), if a referred subscription is found to be fraudulent, or if you stop using the Service for an extended period. We’ll usually contact you first where the situation allows it.
Changes to commission rates and policy
We may change the commission policy for futuresubscriptions on at least 30 days’ notice. Existing subscriptions stay at the rate they were attributed under — a policy change doesn’t retroactively reduce commission already being earned on a live subscription.
